The classic side return extension

Brief: Our client wanted the dining table to be at the centre of the kitchen - but people must be allowed to flow through to the garden.  Although light floods through the Velux windows, extra lighting was required for the main preparation area.

The use of a dark veneer allows the kitchen to evolve into the lounge area.
Continuous oak floor throughout unites the lounge and kitchen into one lifestyle room.

The home owners love the way the kitchen wraps around family and guests at meal times.  The table also creates extra sociable work surface without blocking access to any of the kitchen cupboards.

"Putting the table in the centre elevates the status of meal times, cooking and eating take centre stage in this house... Guests and the children become involved because they want to!"
